Sitting Room Reveal

HOORAY! The messiest room in the house is official done and I am beyond excited about it. The sitting room, which we also call my lobby (lol) because it's right in front of my office, was a completely undone, empty catchall space since we moved it. It was where all the stuff went when we weren't sure where to unpack it or what to do with it yet. the bummer of that is it's right what you see when you walk in the front door and what I got to stare at while in my office all day every day!

I couldn't take it anymore and decided to get it moving. Realistically, the only things we bought for it were a rug and curtains/rods so I'm annoyed with myself it took me this long! We did however move the living room couch, chairs and ottomans in and got a big new sectional in there, so that was part of the delay.

These prints are smaller than I initially planned, but they photograph even smaller! I picked these up off the street in Paris and loved these so I had to compromise on the size and I am totally okay with it.

These frames were white and the only square ones with mats that I could find at the right size so I spray painted them gold to match.

This white shelf was black and I painted it white - we don't plan on keeping it forever, but it will certainly do the job for a while so this room can be usable and blend in.

Our wedding sign from my SIL is so cute & matches perfectly!

We had this awful/dirty light fixture I hated right when you walked in and now we have this little sparkly one and it has dramatically improved my quality of life haha. If you have really high ceilings, I suggest renting a U-Haul and an enormous ladder to change your fixtures. Much cheaper than an electrician and scaffolding & way more reasonable than buying a giant $600+ ladder you'll have to store after. The project (fixtures aside) cost us $97 and we did this and a high ceiling fan in the living room.

There aren't too many more of these posts headed your way but we do have a few left: the master bathroom, master closet, kitchen & potentially some outdoor areas! We are making progress but it all takes time. :)
