January Birchbox Review
January is a month of fresh starts and new goals! Self-improvement doesn't have to come at the beginning of the year exclusively, but I did love that this box held to that theme. All the products in this box were for recovery for hair, skin and eyes.
PIXI by Petra Glow Tonic To-Go: These are exfoliating toning pads with glycolic acid, aloe vera and ginseng. They're pre-soaked and are meant to tone, brighten and remove dead skin cells for healthier glowing skin. I was really excited to see these because I wanted to try them but had JUST bought new toner and I am really trying to get better about buying so many products. Kind of contradictory for a beauty blogger, right? Either way, I liked this. It does seem wasteful to use pads this soaked but it is sold in bottle form as well as pre-soaked.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream: This is made to smooth your eye area with aloe vera and avocado. It is oil-based so pending your skin type, that can be a make or break. It promises to hydrate for up to 24 hours. It was certainly hydrating and a good base for concealer. I'm not sure how much it does for anti-aging purposes, but moisturizing none-the-less.
Matrix Biolage RAW Shampoo & Conditioner: The shampoo is made with yucca and goji berry meant to restore shine and the conditioner has coriander oil and kaolin clay for strength. I love Biolage and have for years so i was no surprise I liked this. It did make my hair shinier as well and it smelled good!
ARROW ENDURE Water-Resistant Mascara: This is Birchbox's line of makeup and is vegan and paraban-free. This was water-resistant and I believe it. I wouldn't use it daily because nothing will replace TOO Faced Better Than Sex and I would never use water-resistant mascara daily, but it is good for vacations!
This box was full of treasures and I really liked them all. Perfect way to kick off the new year by upping your beauty routine to products that refresh and enhance!
