Travel Essentials

Traveling is one of my biggest pleasures - I love an adventure and exploring somewhere new! A little more than a year ago, we moved across the state, so a lot of our travel is by car for 5+ hours. We still try to go on a few vacations a year and also travel for work from time to time. That said, I've narrowed down my favorite travel necessities and have it down to a science!

travel items

Temperature changes whether you're traveling by plane or car so I always pack a poncho or blanket scarf just in case it's freezing - plus they're snuggly and really help if there are any unpleasant smells (I won't lie, I've fully buried my face in my scarf for an entire plane ride - eek!). A neck pillow is the perfect way to catch some zzz's if you have the chance, and I love traveling with a floppy hat to cover your face from any light. Possibly the most important of all - earplugs! You never know when a baby on a flight is going to be upset!

I've been really in to listening to podcasts and audio-books, so I rarely leave home without earbuds. There is still something nostalgic about a paper book so I always travel with one as well! I make an insane amount of lists and when I'm on a plane, my brain is going at full-speed so I carry a notebook just in case.

essential oils

Essential oils are incredible and can fix so many issues. I found this pack of 3 geared toward travel and couldn't resist. There are sleep and energy blends in case you need a pick-me-up or to wind down and there's a travel blend to help with motion sickness. I generally need all 3!

travel skin care

These three favorites are more for travel by plane than car. When I fly, my skin dries out (which is saying a lot because I am oily generally). I love Tocca hand cream because it's light and smells fantastic. I've talked about these Wilma Schumann Collagen Eye Pads previously and they're great for travel. They hydrate under eyes and conceal puffiness if you're lacking sleep. Lastly, I talked about this thermal spring water spray before and really had no idea what to do with it but I've figured it out. It's perfect to refresh tired and dry skin for travel! And because it was a Birchbox sample, it's perfect carry-on size for travel.

Other essentials I like to bring are contact drops & Chapstick. I always travel with SmartWater for extra electrolytes and both a sweet and savory snack! What items do you travel with consistently?
