Face masks are a saving grace and really give your skin the extra oomph it may need to reach its full potential. There are so many different kinds, textures, ingredients and purposes that it can be a little overwhelming. Here are some current favorites and what they do!
Wilma Schumann European Skin Care Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads: I am OBSESSED with these. If I could only use one extra treatment on my face, it would be these. I found them through Birchbox and have been hooked ever since. They are small, moon-shaped pads are 100% pure collagen and help with wrinkles, fine-lines, puffiness and overall tired looking eyes. They say not to reuse them, but I break the rules and use them a few times before disposing. They are so refreshing and cooling that even on my busiest/sleep-deprived days I look more awake.
bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energy Mask: This quick mask does what the eye pads above do but for the rest of your face. It is a gentle foam that brightens, detoxifies and refreshes skin. I love the oxygen factor because it opens your pores almost as a primer for a secondary deep-cleaning mask. It has grape seed extract so it's jam-packed with antioxidants and smells fantastic.
derma e Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask: This mask exfoliates, detoxifies and purges pores with its charcoal to leave skin clean. It is only a 5 minute mask and you rinse it off with water while using it like an exfoliator. I love using it after the oxygen mask to purify pores to the max.
GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment: Truthfully, this is the more dramatic version of the mask above. It uses activated charcoal to draw out impurities and clean pores while leaving skin soft and bright. It is a cult favorite product and a bit pricier than the derma e mask but I like to use it for serious spa nights as it is a bit longer of a mask as well.
Kalos Skincare Triple Threat Detox Masque: This is one of the most unique masks I have ever tried. It is made with raspberry seed, rosehip and cayenne pepper. It has an exfoliating texture and a bit of a tingle but it leaves skin exfoliated and nourished as it also has glycolic and hyarluronic acid. It's mostly organic and packed with antioxidants, too!
Forever21 Mud Mask: Sometimes your skin is dull and dry and you need a good old mud mask - one of my all-time favorite beauty staples! Forever21 and Montange will always be my cheap go to's for this. There is something so comforting about a goopy, odd colored mask. There are many different types for purifying, moisturizing, clarifying etc.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: This little gem is an added extra specifically for your lips. I am an avid lip balm user and this one works as a mask while you sleep. It removes dead skin cells so you wake up with smooth, moisturized lips. If you live in a chilly area, it is even better in the winter. It is Korean and can be found in some stores or ordered online. It somehow stays on lips without getting everywhere (and I sleep on my stomach!).
There are many more that I use from time to time and so many others that I haven't tried so I would love to hear everyone's favorites. As the seasons begin change and skin gets dry, dull or tired, these are my favorite masks of the moment pending the issue at hand!
