December Birchbox Review
This month's theme was Shine On - for festive products that keep you shining through all of the holiday season get-togethers. It was the prettiest box I have seen thus far, and this was my 50th Birchbox! That's right, 50... I have a beauty product problem, okay? This box, shown in the top corner, was pretty enough to be used as a gift box this season! And, as extras, they sent cute little gift tags on the right and the adorable patterned circular mirror in the middle.
Ardency Inn MODSTER Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner in black: It has a creamy texture that glides on smooth and is supposedly waterproof. I loved the pigment, consistency and how easy it was to apply, but I by no means think this is truly long-lasting or waterproof!
REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion: This is an emulsifying moisturizer that plumps skin to reduce fine lines and leave it soft. I liked this product and think it did indeed reduce lines and leave my skin feeling softer. I don't think this is strong enough to use as an anti-aging product replacement , but it's great to add to the routine and apply before makeup for an extra boost and line reduction.
Marcelle CC Cream SPF 35 Complete Correction in Golden Glow: This is a CC cream meant to even tone but it is also an illuminator and super shimmery. I'm not a big fan of CC creams and would rather use foundation, tinted moisturizer or even BB creams, but I am especially not a fan of one that doubles as an illuminator with extra sheen. Never will I ever want an entire shimmering face or body unless I'm on the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, so I will never understand these products.
English Laundry No. 7 for Her: I love love LOVED this scent! I am incredibly picky about fragrances and truly only love a handful of them, so I was delightfully surprised to love this so much. It has the perfect balance of bright and fruity but with hints of musk and that is hard to come by! This is definitely on my list to purchase next time i need to add one to my collection. I had never heard of this brand, and that is the exact reason I love Birchbox; you get to test so many new things you'd otherwise never try.
Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse: This product is genius and everything I never knew I needed. It is a gentle clarifying treatment and pH balancing restorative rinse. Basically it's like shampoo on steroids with lemon extracts that actually get rid of product residue without taking away moisture. AKA this gets rid of your mass amounts of dry shampoo layers from the week and leaves your hair fresh and clean without the residue!
This is the perfect month to restore your skin and beauty routine and kick off the new year. I would love to hear about any products you're loving so far!
